White residents are leaving certain metropolitan areas at about the same rate at which immigrants are arriving. Over 50% of the people who immigrated to the US in the 1980s ended up residing in eight metropolitan areas. Whites are moving to cities such as Las Vegas, NV, and Phoenix, AZ.
