Fit to snooze: regular exercise helps you sleep better
Article Abstract:
A study of 24 men showed that being sedentary led to greater sleep problems. The men, aged 60 to 72, were divided into two groups of physically fit and not fit. The men who got regular exercise slept more deeply and awoke fewer times during the night.

A study of young girls who watched a non-violent television program revealed a drop in their metabolic rates. The drop is attributed to the sedentary nature of watching television and may contribute to obesity.

Research reveals that employees who are physically fit tend to get sick less often. In the study, employees in poor physical shape had 2.5 times the rate of absenteeism because of sickness.
