Persimmons, the fruit with the botanical name Diospyros, meaning 'food of the Gods' in Greek language is known for its sweet taste and the nutritive value packed into it. A study, which matched persimmons against apples in a comparison, found that persimmons had twice as much fiber, and significantly higher levels of potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and manganese.
