River trout are more spread out than creek trout and can be more difficult to catch, but using chest waders and realizing that that brushy riverbanks are popular spots for trout will help the angler fish successfully. The bank should be approached slowly and quietly to avoid scaring the fish. Other tips are given.

Spring trout spinning

Trout fishing in the cold waters of early spring with spinners can be a tricky proposition. Anglers are advised to work a spinner slowly near the bottom of a slack water section of a stream. If the water is unclear, a brightly colored spinner with a noise component should be used.
