The owner of Malden Mills, Aaron Feuerstein, showed his kindness and outstanding character when his business burned. He vowed to rebuild within three months and continued to pay employees a portion of their salaries in the interim. The fleece business is also discussed.

Putting age on ice
Article Abstract:
A backpacker describes the experience of ice climbing in New Hampshire. The challenge was a great one for someone not fond of precarious heights. However, once completed, the climb brought with it a feeling of accomplishment and of freedom.

New staff members joined older ones on a trip along the Appalachian Trail near Damascus, VA. They met 'thru-hikers' who appear to do nothing but hike. They also got to know the peculiarities of one another.
