The massive wiring harness, potentially troublesome to operate and often a nightmare to troubleshoot and repair when problems do arise, are the leading cause for accidents, which occur on modern cruising boats. A different approach is suggested to switching loads in which two heavy cables one positive and one negative are run the length of the boat.

Replacing a boat engine is an important decision and requires identifying the amount of horsepower needed to power the boat. This includes determining the engine and propeller size. Propeller sizing in particular is both a science and an art.

A proper exhaust

Saltwater can destroy or damage marine engines, especially when at rest, because the water can fill the exhaust pipe and back up into the engine. Therefore, boats should correctly install exhaust systems to prevent problems.
