Goal striving, goal attainment, and well-being: adapting and testing the self-concordance model in sport
Article Abstract:
The motivational processes underlying goal striving in sport and the role of perceived coach autonomy support in the goal process are examined on the basis of the self-concordance model. Results reveal that autonomous goal motives positively predict effort, which predicts goal attainment linked to satisfaction and finally, psychological well-being.
