Gunkholing: gunkholing is gear shifting, poking into quiet backwaters that don't attract a crowd
Article Abstract:
Small sailboats can maneuver into shallow water and bring sailors to offbeat bays and harbors that offer nature scenes not elsewhere found. Cruising or gunkholing is done without the use of sails. Unmarked outcroppings of rocks may cause bumping. Gunkholing in Lake Ontario is described.

Across the cyclone's path
Article Abstract:
Siana, a 40-year-old wooden ex-racer, managed to survive an out-of-season Indian Ocean cyclone. The 35-feet, old timber boat, which was built in 1956, was stressed because it had to career down waves at 8,9 and sometimes 10 knots, with its leeward gunwale always underwater.
