Registered complementary therapists currently outnumber General Practitioner doctors in the UK, 40,000 to 36,000, according to the British Complementary Medicine Association. A survey into the regulation of complementary therapies revealed that patients are not being protected from poor practice. Consolidation of the plethora of voluntary bodies regulating the industry could improve standards and ease access to information.

Heading off hysterectomy
Article Abstract:
Fibroid tumors are fairly common, and most women who have surgery are getting hysterectomies. But there is another surgical procedure available that removes the tumors, but leaves the uterus intact. The operation, called an abdominal myomectomy, is common in Europe, but not in the US.
