One injection of the antibiotic ceftriaxone may cure middle ear infections as well as a ten-day course of oral antibiotics. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic, which can be overkill, but it is recommended for children who fight taking medicine or for children who have multiple caregivers.

Preliminary research suggests that the isoflavones contained in soybeans may help relieve the frequent migraine headaches and nosebleeds associated with the genetic disorder hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasis (HHT). Larger, controlled studies are needed to confirm the results.
