High-test at Tahoe: four days, three mountains, seven skis, nine testers

Seven skis with designs midway between slender and fat skis, were tested to determine if they could be considered all-terrain skis. They were all approved by the testers. Features and recommendations for each are given. Prices range from $555 for the Volant Powerkarve to $749 for the Atomic Beta Cruise.

Powder skis: the skinny on fats
Article Abstract:
Fourteen different models of fat skis were tested in powder conditions by a group of experienced skiers, who varied in height and weight. The $629 Atomic Powder Cruise performed well in long turns, and the $790 Goode Extra Versatile excelled in comfortable and maneuverability.
