Ken Read, Karl Anderson, and Scott Norris put on one of the year's most impressive fleet-racing performances by winning the 2006 MasterCard Etchells World Championship in Greenwich, Connecticut, with nearly all bullets in a 93-boat fleet and all finished a close second in race one. This premier one-design class-six former world champions took nearly a year to prepare for this race.

Distance racer Ellen MacArthur's meteoric rise to fame started in 1998 when she won the Route du Rhum race in an Open 50 at the age of 21. Ellen knows the stakes are high in offshore multi-hull sailing, and is preparing to return to solo sailing in a new Open 60 trimaran that she hopes will produce higher average speeds than a catamaran in a wide range of conditions.
