The Cadillac Van Isle 360 degrees race is a 580-mile circumnavigation of Vancouver Island organized Wayne Gorrie and Janine Bell and offers local sailors some adventurous and satisfying sailing. The race has 10 stopovers and sailors enjoy the variety of extremes offered, from drifting in the lee of old-growth forests to dodging 16-knot currents in the Seymour Narrows to fast surfing on the Pacific Ocean.

The Baja Ha-Ha is a West Coast cruiser rally which starts each October, as the hurricane season ends in Mexico, when hundreds of boats head south from Alaska, British, Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California. They meet at Cabo and after a few get-togethers, the boats disperse into the cruising grounds of the Sea of Cortez and the mainland Mexican coast to cruise for a season or a year.

Transpacific Yacth Race 2005 is ocean classic race of a long spinnaker ride in the trade winds, culminating in a roaring finish off Diamond Head. The centennial was the forty-third Transpac, offset by a year because the race switched from even-numbered to odd numbered years in 1939.
