The combined effect of time of day and menstrual cycle on lactate threshold
Article Abstract:
The isolated and combined effects of time of day and menstrual cycle phase on the determination of lactate threshold (T (sub lac)) and blood lactate concentration are studied. The results suggest that in the midlutel phase of the menstrual cycle, T(sub lac-4 mM) occurs at a significantly higher exercise intensity, heart rate and oxygen consumption than it does in the midfollicular phase.
