Impact of two different body mass management strategies on repeat rowing performance
Article Abstract:
The impact of acute weight loss on repeat two thousand-meter rowing ergometer performance during a simulated multiday regatta is examined and two different body mass management strategies between races are compared. It is found that acute weight loss results in a small performance compromise that can be reduced or eliminated when repeated over several days and athletes should be encouraged to maximize recovery in the twelve to sixteen hours after racing while optimizing subsequent performance.

Influence of nutrient intake after weigh-in on lightweight rowing performance
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the effect of different nutritional recovery strategies after weigh-in on the performance of lightweight rowers undertaking short-term weight loss before competition. It was concluded that an aggressive nutritional diet routine and recovery strategy focusing on combination of sodium, fluid and carbohydrate would result in better performance outcome.

Impact of acute weight loss and/or thermal stress on rowing ergometer performance
Article Abstract:
The effect of acute weight loss in ergometer performance among lightweight rowers is examined when aggressive nutritional recovery strategies are employed in the 2 h between weigh-in and competition. It is believed that despite the utilization of aggressive recovery strategies, acute weight loss would compromise rowing performance, particularly in the heat.
