Joint account: plant oil may ease arthritis pain and swelling
Article Abstract:
Research suggests that gamma linolenic acid (GLA), found in borage-seed oil, can reduce the swelling, stiffness and pain of rheumatoid arthritis. Study participants who took the oil for 12 months saw steady improvement. No side effects were apparent, but doses were high and not recommended for the general public.
