Left ventricular function and perfusion in elderly endurance athletes
Article Abstract:
This article examines the effects of lifelong endurance training on left ventricular function, cardiovascular capacity, and myocardial perfusion in aged men. Findings indicate that trained subjects had improved physical capacity and left ventricular function when compared to sedentary controls but also had a higher incidence of myocardial perfusion defects.
