Runners can learn from their injuries if they do not allow their impatient desire to resume running from interfering. The interruption gives them time to think of how they could have avoided their injuries. In many cases, marathon runners do not develop enough endurance before a race.

Participation in the Hospital Hill Half-Marathon in Kansas City, MO, is described. Half-marathon races have an image problem, primarily because of their name, but they are valid and worthwhile races that have not experienced the growth of marathon and five-kilometer races.

Good enough

Not all runners are fast, but all runners are good. Anyone who enters a race is better than those people who do not even try to exercise. People who train and then enter a race have completed 98% of what it takes to win.
