Hal Roth is sailing Whisper, a boat across the Strait of Belle Isle between Canada's Newfoundland and Labrador for destination Red Bay, 30 miles away to the northeast. As the wind starts blowing at 35 knots Hal Roth reduces the speed as feels it was better to lose sail than to lose the boat on a rock.
