Major dilemma
Article Abstract:
The goal of most professional golfers is to win one of the major tournaments. The ideal situation would be to be in peak performance when one of these events arrives on the calendar. Each golfer has his own method of preparing for a major tournament, including taking a week off from playing.

Journeymen
Article Abstract:
While the big names on the PGA Tour routinely attract the attention of the average golf fan, the rest of the Tour members, known as journeymen, play in relative obscurity. The journeymen of the PGA Tour generally rank between 50 to 100 on the money list and rarely challenge the top players.

Allen Doyle has the distinction in 1996 of being the oldest rookie in the history of the PGA tour, at 47 years of age. Doyle, who runs a driving range and miniature golf course in his native Georgia, is a former six-time Georgia state amateur champion and three-time Walker Cup team member.
