Ski shops have long allowed customers the chance to demo products before buying them but a couple of ski equipment makers have taken the idea a step further. Dynastar and Rossignol have begun opening test centers where a customer can test-drive the latest ski equipment for a nominal fee.

Skiers who want to avoid Denver International Airport can use Eagle County Airport to travel to Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen and Snowmass. Several airlines also fly directly to Aspen and Telluride. Western Pacific Airlines is offering bargain fares to Colorado Springs airport.

More ski resorts are forming alliances with companies, and this growing trend is manifested by the increasing number of trails with corporate names. Vail has formed 15 alliances and has trails with names such as Brisk Walk, which refers to 'brisk Lipton tea.'
