Mastering the rope-to-chain splice
Article Abstract:
Techniques on using rope-to-chain rodes are presented. Pointers on splicing rope are also offered, with special emphasis on three types. These are the 'tight' unthimbled eye splice, the Simpson-Lawrence splice and the snap-shackle splice. The common eye splice without a thimble was found to be the strongest according to tensile strength tests.
