Michigan's Sunrise Side
Article Abstract:
The state of Michigan now contains more public-access golf courses than any other state in the continental US, a total of 22 new courses were opened in 1995. The majority of the courses are located in the eastern region, known as the Sunrise Side. Descriptions of the best courses are presented.

Augustine Golf Club
Article Abstract:
The Augustine Golf Club in northern Virginia has become the number one daily-fee course in the Washington, D.C. area. The 6,810-yard course was designed by Jack Nicklaus disciple Rick Jacobson and has garnered a slew of rave reviews from professionals and amateurs who have played on it.

Rush Creek: a rising star in the upper Midwest

Rush Creek was designed by Bob Cupp and John Fought, and it blends into its forested, boggy surroundings to create a very challenging layout. It features four par-fives, including the 569-yard 18th, whose left side is entirely flanked by water.
