The effect of adding lower intensity work on perceived aversiveness of exercise
Article Abstract:
This study examines the effect of adding a period of reduced exertion to a workout on the perceived aversiveness of exercise. Participants perceived longer sessions with an added period of reduced intensity exercise as less aversive than a shorter session with a constant intensity level.

The antecedents and consequences of self-talk in competitive tennis
Article Abstract:
This article examines the antecedents and psychological consequences of observable comments and gestures during a competitive tennis match. Findings indicate that all players engaged in positive and negative self-talk while playing and that match circumstances, such as serving status or point outcome, predicted the use of negative comments.

NCAA division II college football players' perceptions of an athlete who consults a sport psychologist
Article Abstract:
College football players were surveyed on their perceptions of an athlete who consults a sports psychologist. It was presumed that athletes who do not seek psychological counselling would tend to be derogatory to athletes who do so. The results implied that athletes have unique behavioral expectations about fellow athletes which are different from sports fans. They believed that psychiatric consultations for game conditions were not deviant but becomes derogatory if done for mental issues.
