Neck check: at-home test targets thyroid troubles
Article Abstract:
More new cases of thyroid cancer, about 16,000, will be reported in the US in 1997, than cases of cervical cancer. Early detection of the cancer of the thyroid has a 95% survival rate. The self-test devised by the AACE is described. This test has the potential to save many lives.

People who wrote a humorous account of a filmed industrial accident had less measurable stress than people who merely wrote a factual account of the event. The lower stress factor was true even in people who considered themselves as having a very poor sense of humor.
