Boyne USA Resorts spent $3 million on the Lone Peak Tram, which will transport skiers up to Lone Mountain's 11,166-ft peak. The Big Sky, MT, resort can now boast it has the largest vertical drop in the US. The views from the summit are spectacular.

Snowboards now come in several models, and various shapes. Boot and binding designs and safety features have been researched, and as a result are more comfortable, more reliable and can be adjusted. Most of the boards sell for approximately $500.
