Boat owners should carry their own tools and spare parts for troubleshooting sessions. Tools, whether specially ordered or self-fabricated, must be able to reach components even in limited machinery spaces. One versatile tool, the bent-up wrench, is described. It reaches hard-to-access places.

Using a single engine and a bow thruster instead of twin engines has its advantages. A bow thruster allows easier maneuvering and docking at relatively high speeds. It also improves overall performance and reduces operating costs.
