Dean Brenner, new chairman of the Olympic Sailing Committee hopes to double the Olympic sailing budget to $2.5 million for the year 2008 that is still well below many foreign budgets and raise $8 to 10 million into an endowment program. There was a disappointment surrounding the United States Olympic sailing in the year 2024 and Brenner is tired of having American Athletes operating at the poverty line.

The life and career of Paul Cayard, an athlete and Phil Trinter, a sailor who will be participating in the US Olympic Star Trials in Miami, Florida is discussed. He won the Star Class world championship at the age of 28 in 1988 and he is better known for his five America's Cup campaigns, Whitebread Round-the-World Race victory and Maxi-class victory.

Sailors stage regattas all across the country to collect fund for various causes outside the sport. Benefit regattas are different from the regular run and bring people together from all walks of life that otherwise do not race or are not even flexible.
