School principal burnout: the concept and its components
Article Abstract:
Facet theory was used to determine the individual components of the burnout experienced by elementary and secondary school teachers. Using a sample of 571 school principals, it was shown that burnout could be modeled in a two-dimensional space where two variables could be mapped: experiences and the focus of these experiences. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that in this two-dimensional space, four components of burnout could be identifed: deprecation, aloofness, self-discontent and exhaustion.
