Perceptual and cognitive skill development in Soccer: the multidimensional nature of expert performance
Article Abstract:
Relative contribution of visual, perceptual and cognitive skills is investigated to develop expertise in soccer. It is stated that tests of anticipatory performance, and use of situational probabilities along with memory recall of structured patterns of play, are best criteria to discriminate across skill groups.

Perceptual-cognitive expertise in sport: a meta-analysis
Article Abstract:
The contribution of perceptual-cognitive skill to sport expertise is analyzed and its practical as well as theoretical implications are presented. Results indicated that the experts are better than nonexperts in picking up perceptual cues as the measures of response accuracy and response time reveals.
