A cruiser stresses the need to understand and respect the informal rules governing the cruising community and to nurture values such as generosity and goodwill among the current sailors and to cultivate them in newcomers. The friendly open spirit can be maintained with a little courtesy and consideration, that's always characterized relations between cruising boats in anchorages both far away and close to home.
