A man who has fished since 1969 describes why he has kept all of the fishing licenses he has been issued. Though he can recall almost every place he has fished, he believes he will make a map with them once he can no longer fish. The licenses serve as a way to track his life.

A May fishing trip on Oregon's Umpqua River is described. May is normally a time when both resident and visiting fish are to be found in the river and striped bass, smallmouth bass, chinook, white sturgeon, and shad are in plentiful supply.
