Relationship between self-efficacy, exercise intensity, and feeling states in a sedentary population during and following an acute bout of exercise
Article Abstract:
A relationship exists among intensity of exercise, self-efficacy, and feeling states for a sedentary population that begins an exercise program. High-intensity exercise produces positive self-efficacy but negative feeling states. Moderate-intensity exercise produced fewer negative feeling states and less immediate positive self-efficacy. A moderate exercise program is recommended for long-term psychological and physical benefits.

Determinants of physical activity in a sedentary, obese female population
Article Abstract:
Overweight, sedentary women exhibiting high social physique anxiety (SPA) rates are less likely to continue with healthful exercise regimens than those who show low SPA rates. The validity of this finding is emphasized in younger participants. However, physiological variables such as body mass index, body fat percentage and resting heart rate were found to have no significant correlation with regimen dropout figures.

Physical and psychological predictors of exercise dosage in healthy adults
Article Abstract:
Exercise habits are linked to a variety of behavioral, psychological, physiological, and demographic factors. Younger people showed higher dosages of regular exercise, a longer habit of exercise, and more positive attitudes about exercising. Women exercised with more low to moderate efforts than men who primarily had high frequency of exercise. Physical exercise generally decreased with age.
