The 'Nada' sailboat sailed from Destin, FL to the Isla Mujers in the Yucatan. The crew failed to get a favorable wind due to a navigational error. They also encountered a 2- to 3-knot current that cut the boat speed down to 3 to 4 knots over the bottom.

The National Family Island Regatta is held yearly in George-Town, Exumas, Bahamas. Sailors use traditional 28-foot wooden fishing sloops with 60-foot unstayed masts, negligible ballast, a 30-foot boom, and 16 crew.
