A coastal-cruising safety checklist is provided to help identify potential trouble spots assuming that all emergency situations can also arise offshore can occur within sight of the home port also. It is suggested that the deck area, below decks, radios, pumps tools and spare parts inventory needs to be given a thorough check to make the trip on water a pleasant one.
