Seal out decay: can a top-coat curb cavities?
Article Abstract:
A plastic sealant can be applied to the back teeth to prevent cavities from getting started and can often stop decay that has just begun. Children will benefit from having their permanent molars sealed as soon as they come in. Adults with difficulties brushing and rough surfaces on their teeth can benefit too.

Ozone alert

Overexposure of the skin to the two types of ultraviolet rays, UVA and UVB, can cause premature aging, sunburn, and skin cancer. Already a known health hazard, ultraviolet radiation may become an even more serious problem if the ozone layer deteriorates further. Tips on limiting exposure are provided.

Nip cavities in the bud
Article Abstract:
Sealants consisting of plastic resins are an excellent way to prevent the formation of cavities. Sealants are applied mostly to back chewing teeth, keeping out bacteria that cause cavities. Fluoride often does not reach bacteria in pitted and grooved areas of teeth.
