Hyperacusis is a condition that causes all noises, both external and internal, to be greatly magnified and often painful. The condition is rare, but those afflicted find it difficult to have a normal social or professional life. Possible causes and suggested treatment are discussed.

A majority of ulcers are caused by the bacteria H. pylori, and a new drug therapy called 'triple therapy' combines two antibiotics and the antimicrobial bismuth subsalicylate. When triple therapy is used with H2 blockers, the relapse rate is only 12%.
