A Temporary Importation Permit (TIP) is needed for a boat if they are planning to stay for more than six months. The boat, which fell in the Coast Marine yard during the hurricane, made the sailors to realize the need of this document as a result of good insurance coverage and help from friends, relatives and fellow cruisers helped the sailors to manage to save their boat and make it better in the process.
