A hunter who persistently tracked deer, even running with them, describes three experiences in which the deer he tracked were not shot by him. Twice other hunters took advantage of his efforts and shot the deer before he could. He ran with the third deer for almost six hours before it got away.

The big deer bet

A 13-year-old boy was an unwilling accomplice to a bet between two seasoned hunters. The boy did not dispute the false description given by one of the contestants, who caught a large buck to prevent the other contestant from being humiliated.
