Article Abstract:
Yamaha's Speedstar may not ever go into production due to the firm's dissatisfaction with its performance. Jeff Palhegyi designed the first Speedstar in 1997 and has improved on it since with changes in its total length, tubes and linkage mates. However, Yamaha is not keen on building it.

The 1998 AMA 250cc National Motocross Championship is expected to attract top-caliber riders. While defending champion Doug Henry's participation is still in doubt, other well-known riders will fill the gap, including Jeff Emig, Ricky Carmichael and Damon Huffman.

Pirelli turns up the heat
Article Abstract:
Pirelli has introduced two new radial tires for motorcycles called the Dragon EVO and GTS. The EVO is for sports bikes and is made of a new synthetic material lighter than nylon or rayon. The GTS maximizes wet traction and is geared for sports-touring bikes.
