Henry Ford may have been the first person to race a car when he tried to outrun a horse galloping in a field. Motorsports competition became serious after the gasoline engines placed in the horseless carriage were fired with a hand-crank. In the early 1900s, records were set in Daytona Beach. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was opened in 1909.

Leaders of the pac: former Pac-10 point guards are running the NBA
Article Abstract:
The Pac-10 has proven to be an excellent training ground for basketball point guards, with some of the best point guards in the NBA coming from that conference. These include Jason Kidd from California, Terrell Brandon from Oregon, Gary Payton from Oregon State, and Damon Stoudamire from Arizona.
