Stalking the tallgrass
Article Abstract:
Hunting for mule deer in tall grass areas set aside under the US Dept of Agriculture's Conservation Reserve Program is reminiscent of old hunting stories. The deer use the tall grass to their advantage, and hunters use any elevation to locate deer in the grass. Techniques are described.

Information is provided on the methods of mule deer hunting. The nomadic and unpredictable mule deer are best hunted from trees by stand placement, which also increases the chances of accurate shooting, although it does not provide as much excitement as hunting on foot.
