Spear fishing, an ancient activity, is today used for recreation. It is an individualistic sport with some using live baits and others using decoys. Even the stance varies. However the spear should always be in the water to cut down on the number of misses. Sturgeon spear fishing is described.

A history of plastic worm production is presented, beginning with Nick Creme's creations in 1949 and ending with the sophisticated worm hybrids of the 1990's. Several types of plastic worms are described and compared, including the Texas rig, the Jelly Worm, the Curly Tail and the Slug-Go.
