Substrate utilization and glucose turnover during exercise of varying intensities in individuals with NIDDM
Article Abstract:
Exercise increases plasma glucose utilization in people with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). People with NIDDM exercised and were tested for substrate utilization and glucose turnover. The measured increase in glucose utilization mediated decline in glucose concentrations. However, carbohydrate and fat oxidation were found to be similar in people with NIDDM and people without this condition.

Validation of the adult OMNI scale of perceived exertion for cycle ergometer exercise
Article Abstract:
A study examined the concurrent and construct validity of the OMNI-cycle scale of perceived exertion separately for adult women and men. The findings provided both concurrent and construct evidence supporting the use of OMNI scale by adult women and men to estimate undifferentiated and differentiated RPE during cycle exercise.

Evaluation of air displacement for assessing body composition of collegiate wrestlers
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that both BOD POD and hydrostatic weighing air displacement methods accurately evaluate air displacement as observed in similar estimates of body density, percent body fat, and fat-free mass in a heterogeneous collegiate wrestling population during hydrated and acutely dehydrated states.
