The Russians are coming!
Article Abstract:
Honeybee queens imported into the US from Russia may foster a generation of bees resistant to the deadly varroa mites. The mites originated from Asia, and have decimated the wild honeybee population and destroyed a third of America's managed hives. Russian honeybee queens will be introduced to queenless colonies, and stock releases are planned if the resulting brood proves resistant.
