The long-running dispute between the Assn. of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) threatens to irreparably damage the image of the sport. The rivalry began in 1988, when the ATP started its own tour, confusing and dividing fans around the world.

Tennis player Cedric Pioline seems to have made a career out of second-place finishes in tournaments. However, Pioline should take heart that he had starred in nine finals appearances, rather than not finishing at all. In this sense, Pioline is better than other tennis players.
