The Clean Water Act turns 20
Article Abstract:
River pollution has been abated to some degree by the Clean Water Act, but the Environmental Protection Agency states that more than 17,000 bodies of US water are still contaminated. Wetlands are still being lost, and environmentalists agree that greater efforts are required.

The big ice-hearted river

The Alsek, in Kluane National Park, is a beautiful wilderness area complete with glaciers, Dall sheep and grizzly bears. Environmentalists are fighting a mining concern's attempt to get a development permit. A boating trip down the river is described.
