Issues concerning the use of fibreglass in boatbuilding are discussed. The most commonly used fibre is electrical-grade glass, while the more expensive structural glass is generally only used in high-load areas. Fibreglass is used as rovings, which are loose bundles of continuous fibres, chopped-strand mat or fibreglass cloth.
