A bicycle tour of the deep south takes a couple on a two-week, 700-mile ride from Chattanooga to New Orleans. The first part of the journey indicates tp the couple that bikes are not a popular mode of transport and roadside shoulders are non-existent in the deep south.

Over 600 bicycle messengers convened in San Francisco, CA, to celebrate their profession in the fourth Cycle Messenger World Championships. Two employees of Germany's Per Rad, Thomas Sauerwein and Ivonne Kraft, won the men's and women's races, respectively.
