Every year a golfer is anointed to be the new challenger to Tiger Woods, but Woods goes on to win tournaments while the newcomers fizzle. Golf does not need to promote a rivalry right now because the sport is popular. However, the prospect of Woods meeting a real challenger someday is exciting.

Doubters think that when the glamour names in golfing get too old for the Senior Tour, no one will be interested in it. They feel that older golfers will want to play the regular tour anyway. But others see the older golfers flocking to the senior tour for emotional and financial satisfaction.
